The Pre-Raphaelite Gallery offers an exciting learning programme for young people, families and adults. We offer a range of ways for everyone to engage with the exhibitions and displays, from workshops and talks to guided tours and seminars.
The Gallery is an ideal destination for your school visits and provides unique opportunities for learning across the curriculum. Ten gallery spaces, with fabulous elevated views across the city, offer plenty of inspiration for pupils and teachers alike.
The Learning Studios provide space for pupils to develop ideas through practical, hands-on activities. For break times, we have an indoor picnic area, shop, café, large outdoor spaces and adventure playground – great for burning off excess energy!
The Gallery makes a gallery trip fun for children and grown-ups alike, with a family trail to help you explore the galleries, a riverside play park and picnic area. There’s always something great to do at weekends and school holidays, with free and paid for activities.
The Young People’s Programme is dedicated to young people aged 14 – 25 and offers a range of workshops, talks, evening and weekend events.
The Youth Panel will work with artists and members of the Learning team to develop and coordinate events for young people. To join the Youth Panel come along to any of our young people’s events and speak to a member of the team.
Adults with Additional Needs
Led by experienced artists, our programme will help visitors with visual impairments, hearing impairments and learning disabilities explore the gallery’s collection through verbal descriptive tours, BSL tours, hands-on activities and a bookable handling collection.
